Love of the Week

I may be a little late to the party, but my Love of Week is essential oils. Though people have been using oils for a while, I had started using them until recently. I suffer from seasonal allergies. I have tried many things and have quite a routine in the morning. Earlier this year, my sister recommended I try essential oils. I ordered myself a diffuser, some oils marketed to help with allergies, and gave it a try. I am happy to report; I LOVED it!

I bought the diffuser on Amazon. I decided on the VicTsing Essential Oil Diffuser.  I wanted something quiet, with an extended mist output and a diffuser acting as a cool-mist humidifier.

Victsing Essential Oil Diffuser
  • It is a 500 ml diffuser that runs up to 14 hours on low mist mode and 7 hours on high mist mode.
  • It is quiet and turns off automatically when the water runs out.
  • It has a high/low button to choose the proper setting time.
  • The diffuser has soothing LED lights to act as a night light.
  • Made from BPA-free material.

As for oils, I went with a company called Revive.

I wanted something that was 100% all-natural. As you can imagine, some companies market their products as 100% all-natural, and they are not. All of REVIVE’s Oils are 100% pure therapeutic grade, free from any additives, adulterants, fillers, synthetics, or dilutions. REVIVE also has a 100% money-back guarantee. I love companies that stand by their products.

I started with the Peppermint, Lavender, and Lemon to concoct my own allergy-fighting blend. As I learned more about the oils, I discovered REVIVE makes the blends for you. I am currently using the Allergy Relief oil at night. It consists of Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Peppermint, and Lavender. It eases congestion and soothes allergies. On the days I work from home or hanging around the house, I diffuse Energy or Lemon. REVIVE Energy is a blend of Lavender, Sweet Orange, Osmanthus Extract, Amyris, Litsea, Ylang, Ylang, and Violet. Lemon is an antioxidant and has antibacterial properties to help detoxify and boost the immune system. Since I began using essential oils, I have seen significant improvement. I still take a daily allergy med and perform a sinus rinse, but I feel better overall since I started diffusing the oils.

I have a number of other blends. I have one for headache relief, one for sleeping, and one for digestion. All of them have worked pretty well, some more than others. I find with my headaches, I have to time it right or else it is too late.

What about you? Do you use essential oils? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I love essential oils and whoever introduced this is a lifesaver! I use them all the time, at home and at work. I love my relax ease essential oil when I’m at work. And when I travel I use the citrus oil. It helps with the nausea. Thanks for sharing…

I absolutely love my essential oils. I use them a lot for immune support, skin care, dry scalp treatment, wound healing, anxiety, and even cooking. Great to hear they are working so well for you. What a beautiful essential oil diffuser that is too!

Ohhh I would love to hear what you use for each ailment.

Love my essential oils but one of my favorites that are cheap and not a good grade is called Energy from Walmart and they don’t sell it anymore. I have tried recreating it with my Doterra oils. I think it’s like lavender, citrus, and rosemary but it sure doesn’t smell the same. I need to find another energy one that I can love or make.

Check out Revive’s Energy. It is great.

Essential Oils are a life saver! We use them for all kinds of things, even when we go to visit my pet alpaca. Lavender really helps calm him down if I rub some on my wrists before I go see him. Great Love of the Week!

You have a pet alpaca??? That is awesome!

I’ve only dabbled with essential oils but I have year round allergies and would love to try your concoction! They’ve been bugging the hell out of me lately. I like the look of that diffuser too.

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

You should. It has really helped me battle my allergies. they seem to get a bit worse every year.

Some people in my extended family have used oils and have really enjoyed them. I have used oils more for a topical remedy which has worked well for us.

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

Yes, using them as a topical remedy is great.

I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of essential oils. I have tried some of them, I like Rosemary and Lavender but I found out that the smells were bad for my dog. Thanks for the tips!

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

They are not for everyone. There are certain ones I can’t use around my dog.

We dabble in essential oils for sure. “Breath” oil is perfect to diffuse when my kids have stuffy noses

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

Yes. I have the breath easy one. It is very good.

I’ve never heard of this for allergies, that’s pretty amazing!

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

It has helped me a lot. Today was a hard day, so sat with my diffuser on while I worked.

  10. Lisa | 17th Nov 20

We have not tried essential oils. We may need to check them out.

I LOVE essential oils! Ditched regular candles and started using them a few years ago. In fact, I have peppermint going on my kitchen counter right now! Thanks so much for sharing.

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

Thanks for stopping by. Peppermint is one of my favorite scents. So good.

  12. Sandi Barrett | 17th Nov 20

Peppermint is my favorite, I use it for everything.

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

Peppermint is one of my favorites as well.

I was slow to the essential oil band-wagon, but now we’ve gotten where we use them frequently. We keep several diffusers around the house. My son struggles with migraines and swears by peppermint oil to help. So many great oils, it is a challenge to know what to use when sometimes.

    • Heather | 17th Nov 20

Yes, that can be the tricky part. I used the allergy relief one today and used a roller with a formula for headaches. It seemed to do the trick.

  14. Tricia Snow | 17th Nov 20

I love that diffuser! I have not heard of this brand. I look forward to checking them out!

    • Heather | 19th Nov 20

      Thanks, it was fairly inexpensive.

  15. Angela | 18th Nov 20

Peppermint is great and I seem to love it more at the holiday time!

    • Heather | 19th Nov 20

I am all about the peppermint!

Have been using essential oils for over 12 years, and love them!! They saved our little pup back in 2012 too!
